J.Lo recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about her new album and the accompanying “cinematic experience” at the premiere of This Is Me…Now: A Love Story. She shared that the album is a very honest reflection of her desire to capture a moment of reconnecting with love. While it may seem like a fairytale, she wanted to tell the real story, not necessarily her own autobiography.
She mentioned discussing the album with her kids and how they questioned the authenticity of certain parts. J.Lo explained that there are parts that seem real but aren’t, and vice versa. The album draws inspiration from her personal experiences, particularly her lifelong tendency to be a hopeless romantic and the challenges that come with that.
During the conversation, J.Lo expressed a new sense of motivation to create something that was purely driven by the desire to do art for art’s sake. This was the first time she felt compelled to do something without any other ulterior motives. This is why she took on the project independently.
