Spacious design cabins on board

The cabins on Prima, the first ship in its class, are known for their spacious design. Norwegian Cruise Lines has packed in something special, and it will be a challenge for future additions to top it. The buzzword surrounding this trailblazing ship, with 20 decks and a capacity for 3,099 passengers, was “elevate.” There are five more almost identical ships scheduled to launch between now and 2027, with Norwegian Viva set to debut next year.

From top to bottom, Prima feels more like a luxurious resort than a traditional cruise ship. It offers a wide range of wet and dry activities, numerous dining options, relaxing bars, and lively venues to keep the party going after dark. Before diving into all the excitement, passengers must first unpack. Our cabin, which was approximately 231 square feet, boasted sleek and contemporary decor, as well as a bathroom with a generously sized shower area. The balcony featured the standard table and chairs but with added comfort and style, and there was ample storage space available.

One of the ship’s standout features is the revamped three-level Prima Speedway track, which Norwegian Cruise Lines takes great pride in. On this track, guests can compete against their family and friends on electric go-karts, reaching speeds of up to 30 mph as they maneuver around the ship’s funnel and enjoy breathtaking ocean views. Spanning 1,375 feet and including 14 turns, this is the largest race track in Norwegian’s fleet and comes complete with all the excitement of chequered flags, podiums, and a digital scoreboard.
