A lost cat wandered outside and sprinted towards a woman, forever altering her life.
Meet Rue, the little cat with tiny paws, who recently found herself in a tough spot. Nadija, an animal lover and fosterer at AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue, was alerted to Rue’s situation when a concerned resident reached out. Rue was incredibly frail, with only skin and bones visible, and her face was marred by crusty patches.
Upon seeing Rue’s desperate state, Nadija wasted no time and hurried to the scene, hoping to whisk the ailing feline away to an emergency vet. “When we got there, we spotted Rue, but she was hesitant to approach us,” Nadija recounted to Love Meow.
The elusive cat darted from one hiding spot to another, putting up quite the challenge for her rescuers. But Nadija was determined to help Rue and provide her with the care and love she deserved.
“Deciding to switch things up after a game of tag, I played a YouTube video of a mama cat meowing. It wasn’t long before the little kitty came running toward me, meowing back with glee. Maybe she thought I was another cat or her mother calling out to her. I picked her up and took her to the ER, where she happily кneaded and cuddled up for some love.”
@tiny.paws.fosters shared that a cat named Rue was dealing with various health problems such as an upper respiratory infection and an eye infection. Rue was also dehydrated and experiencing some stomach issues. Despite feeling unwell and being in an unfamiliar place surrounded by strangers, Rue showed comfort by kneading biscuits the entire time she stayed at the emergency room for the necessary care.
Rue snuggled up with her blanket at the vet, but the next day she suddenly perked up, eating her food and taking her medication like a pro. She was overjoyed to see her friend Nadija, who had returned to take her home to foster care. “She was struggling at first, but then she started playing and that’s when I knew Rue would be just fine,” Nadija shared with Love Meow.
Thanks to some tender loving care, Rue’s transformation was truly remarkable. Her once crusty face cleared up, allowing her to breathe easier and her energy levels to skyrocket. Slowly but surely, she embraced sharing space with humans in a loving home and fully embraced the joys of indoor life. Playing with toys became a favorite pastime and she learned to worry less and relax more. Rue’s progress was truly heartwarming.

“Initially, she was quite reserved, timid, and delicate. Any sudden noise or quick movement would startle her and she would either freeze or find a hiding spot. However, now, after a few weeks, Rue has blossomed into a confident and transformed kitty.”
Her preferred resting spot is a cozy blanket basket. She will happily settle down in it and doze off in no time.

She loves running around the house, getting into mischief, and causing chaos with the other foster kittens. Whenever she sees a little toy, she doesn’t think twice about swatting or pouncing on it with her playful attitude.

Rue has truly transformed into a fearless and lively kitten who has come out of her shell. She enjoys racing around the house, engaging in playtime with her furry pals, and confidently exploring her surroundings with her tail held high.
